Heat Treatments

  • Annealing procedure shall consist of heating the material to a minimum temperature of 1040 °C (1900 °F) followed by a rapid cooling to below 370 °C (700 °F). The cooling rate shall be sufficiently rapid to prevent harmful carbide precipitation.
