AA Alclad one side 7075 Tratamiento Térmico
- The times and temperatures are typical for various forms, sizes and methods of manufacture and may not exactly describe the optimum treatment for a specific item.
The nominal temperatures at which metal is heated (applies both for solution and precipitation heat treatment) should be attained as rapidly as possible and maintained ± 5°C of nominal during the time at temperature.
The time at precipitation heat treatment temperature will depend on time required for load to reach temperature. The times shown are based on rapid heating, with soaking time measured from the time the load reached within 5°C of the applicable temperature.
Material should be quenched from the solution heat-treating temperature as rapidly as possible and with minimum delay after removal from the furnace. Quenching is typically performed by immersion of wrought products in a cold water bath, although some forgings are quenched in hot-water. Quenching may be performed by alternative means such as total immersion in an aqueous polymer solution, liquefied gas, hot water, or boiling water, or by air blast or fog to minimize distortion provided samples from the material. The use of high-velocity high-volume jets of cold water is also effective for some materials.
The aging of aluminum alloy 7075 from any temper to the T73 or T76 temper series requires closer than normal controls on aging practice variables such as time, temperature, heating-up rates, etc., for any given item. In addition to the above, when re-aging material in the T6 temper series to the T73 or T76 temper series, the specific condition of the T6 temper material (such as its property level and other effect of processing variables) is extremely important and will affect the capability of the re-aged material to conform to the requirements specified for the applicable T73 or T76 temper series.
For sheet
With optimum ingot homogenization, heat treating temperatures as high as 500°C are sometimes acceptable.
Temper W: Solution heat treated at 480°C, quenched, naturally aged. With optimum ingot homogenization, heat treating temperatures as high as 500°C are sometimes acceptable.
Temper T6: Solution heat treated at 480°C, quenched, precipitation heat treated ta 120°C for 24 hours. An alternate two-stage treatment comprised of 4 hours at 95°C followed by 8 hours at 155°C also may be used.
Temper T73: Solution heat treated at 480°C, quenched, a two-stage treatment comprised of 6 to 8 hours at 105°C followed by a second-stage of 24-30 hours at 165°C. An alternate two-stage treatment comprised of 6-8 hours at 107°C followed by a second state of 14-18 hours at 168°C may be used providing a heating up of 14°C per hour is used.
Temper T76: Solution heat treated at 480°C, quenched, a two-stage treatment comprised of 3-30 hours at 121°C followed by 15-18 hours at 163°C. An alternate two-stage treatment of 8 hours at 99°C followed by 24-28 hours at 163°C may be used.
Temper T62: Solution heat treated at 480°C, quenched, precipitation heat treated ta 120°C for 24 hours. An alternate two-stage treatment comprised of 4 hours at 95°C followed by 8 hours at 155°C also may be used.
For plate
With optimum ingot homogenization, heat treating temperatures as high as 500°C are sometimes acceptable. For plate thickness over 4 inches and for rod diameters or bar thicknesses over four inches, a maximum temperature of 490°C is recommended to avoid eutectic melting.
Temper W51: Solution heat treated at 480°C, quenched, naturally aged. Stress-relieved by stretching is required to produce a specified amount of permanent set subsequent to solution heat treatment.
