PROPRIETARY UGIMA 630 Heat Treatments
- Solution heat treatment includs heating at 1040°C (1900°F) for sufficient time to allow for full austenitization, followed by rapid cooling (air cooling for thicker sections, and oil quenching for thinner sections). It can be precipitation hardened (aged) to different hardness ranges for different applications. The process involves solution treatment per above, followed by precipitation hardening (aging) treatment depending on final properties required.
Condition H900: aged at 480°C (900°F) for 1 hour, air cooled.
Condition H1025: aged at 550°C (1025°F) for 4 hours, air cooled.
Condition H1075: aged at 580°C (1075°F) for 4 hours, air cooled.
Condition H1150: aged at 620°C (1150°F) for 4 hour, air cooled.
Condition H1150M: aged at 760°C (1400°F) for 2 hours + 620°C (1150°F) for 4 hours, air cooled.
Forging: slow heating to 800°C (1475°F), then more rapidly to 1150-1200°C (2100-2190°F). Forged in the range of 950-1200°C (1740-2190°F). After forging, cool in air, water or oil.
