DIN 1.6228 Heat Treatments
- (+N) Normalized: 850-900°C, cooled in air;
(+NT) Normalized: 850-900°C, cooled in air, Tempered: 600-660°C, cooled in air or water;
(+QT) Quenched: 850-900°C, cooled in oil or water, Tempered: 600-660°C, cooled in air or water - Normalized (+N): Austenitizing at 850 to 900°C and air cooling.
Normalized and tempered (+NT): Austenitizing at 850 to 900°C and air cooling; Tempering at 600 to 660°C and air or water cooling.
Quenched and tempered (+QT): Austenitizing at 850 to 900°C and water and oil cooling. Tempering at 600 to 660°C and air or water cooling.
