DIN 1.5637 Heat Treatments
- Normalized (+N):
Austenitizing at 830 to 880°C and air cooling.
Normalized and tempered (+NT):
Austenitizing at 830 to 880°C and air cooling; Tempering at 580 to 640°C and air or water cooling.
Quenched and tempered (+QT):
Austenitizing at 820 to 870°C and water and oil cooling. Tempering at 580 to 640°C and air or water cooling. - Normalizing: Heated at 830-870°C
Quenching and tempering:
Hardened at 820-850°C, water or oil quenched or air cooled.
Tempered at 580-630°C
