- Normalized (+N): Austenitizing at 850 to 900°C, air cooling.
Normalized and tempered (+ NT): Austenitizing at 850 to 900°C, air cooling; Tempering at 600 to 660°C, air or water cooling.
Quenched and tempered (+QT): Austenitizing at 850 to 900°C, water or oil cooling; Tempering at 600 to 660°C, air or water cooling.
