ISO X12Cr13 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: 700-780°C, air cooling.
Quenching and tempering: 950-1000°C, air cooling or oil quenching; Tempering: 700-750°C (2 hours).
If a stress relief treatment is necessary, the stress relief temperature should be at least 30°C lower than the tempering temperature.
The indications of heat treatment for guidance only, except in cases where test samples are to be reference heat treated. - Hot forming: 1100-800°C, air cooling; Annealing: (+A): 750-810°C; Quenching and tempering (+QT1) - Quenching: 950-1010°C, oil or air cooling; Tempering: 700-780°C. Quenching and tempering (+QT2) - Quenching: 950-1010°C, oil or air cooling; Tempering: 620-700°C.
