IS 420 Heat Treatments
- Hot forming at 1100-800°C, slow cooling.
Annealing (+A) at 745-825°C, cooling in air.
Quenching and tempering (+QT1): heating at 950-1050°C, quenching in oil, water or air, tempering at 650-750°C.
(+QT2): Heating at 950-1050°C, quenching in oil, water or air, tempering at 600-700°C - Solution annealed at 745 to 825°C - If heat treatment is carried out in a continuous furnace, the upper part of the range specified is usually preferred, or even exceeded;
