PROPRIETARY Aeroval X122MV Heat Treatments
- Annealing
Heated at 680-700°C, held 4-6h, air cooled.
Annealing is recommended for cold workability.
Hardening
Heated at 990-1060°C, held 1-2h, oil quenched or air cooled (for bars d < 25 mm).
Tempering
Heated at 560-690°C to desired hardness, held 2-4h, air cooled. Double tempering is recommended.
Stress relieving
Heated at 30°C below actual tempering temperature, held enough to restore proof stress, air cooled.
Stress relieving is recommended for hardened and tempered bars subjected to cold working operations.
