ASME SA-747 Type 15-5 Heat Treatments
- Castings may be given a homogenization heat treatment; it shall consist of heating the castings and test material to a minimum of 1040° (1900°F), holding for a minimum of 1.5 h, and cooling to below 30°C (90°F). All castings, whether homogenized or not, shall be given a solution treatment; it shall consist of heating the castings and test material to 1050°C ± 30°C (1925°F ± 50°F), holding the 1.2 min/mm of section but not less than 30 min, and cooling to below 30°C (90°F).
Precipitation hardening H900: T = 480 ± 15°C (900 ± 25°F) for 1.5 h, air cooling
Precipitation hardening H925: T = 495 ± 15°C (925 ± 25°F) for 1.5 h, air cooling
Precipitation hardening H1025: T = 550 ± 15°C (1025 ± 25°F) for 4 h, air cooling
Precipitation hardening H1075: T = 580 ± 15°C (1075 ± 25°F) for 4 h, air cooling
Precipitation hardening H1100: T = 595 ± 15°C (1100 ± 25°F) for 4 h, air cooling
Precipitation hardening H1150: T = 620 ± 15°C (1150 ± 25°F) for 4 h, air cooling
Precipitation hardening H1150M: T = 760 ± 15°C (1400 ± 25°F) for 2 h, air cooling or T = 620 ± 15°C (1150 ± 25°F) for 4 h, air cooling
H1150DBL: T = 620 ± 15°C (1150 ± 25°F) for 4 h, air cooling or T = 620 ± 15°C (1150 ± 25°F) for 4 h, air cooling.
