PROPRIETARY TENASTEEL Heat Treatments
- Austenitization under vacuum or under gas protection: slow heating up to 750°C and homogenization. Then, slow heating up to 1030 - 1050°C, holding 0.5h/25mm of thickness. Cooling after austenitization shall be done preferably under overpressed gas. Quenching and tempering twice at 550°C.
- Quenching: From annealed state, to the pre moderate heat state up to 750°C, slow heating up to 1030/1050°C, keeping 1/2 hours by 25 mm thick. Temper: Double temper to high temperature raise to 500°C, to obtain the best dimensional stability. Hardness higher than 58 HRC, even after temper above 570°C. Cryogenic treatments: The residual austenite in steel, after quenching, becomes almost zero after cold treatment, elating any distortion due to further processing.
