ASTM A 193 B16 Heat Treatments
- Use of water quenching is prohibited for ferritic grade when heat treatment is performed after heading or threading. Material shall be heated to a temperature range from 925 to 955°C (1700 to 1750°F) and oil quenched. The minimum tempering temperature shall be 650°C.
