UNI 30CrMo12 Heat Treatments
- Bars and wires were hardened and tempered as follows: Harden by oil quenching from 880 - 910°C, followed by tempering at 600 - 630°C for one hour.
Annealing: Heat to 700 - 750°C, hold at temperature for a minimum of 2 hours then slow cool in the furnace (approximately 50°C/hour) to 500°C or below, followed by cooling to room temperature in still air. Normalizing: Heat to 880 - 900°C, hold at temperature for a minimum of 2 hours, then cool in still air. Nitride at 490 - 510°C for 24 hours, then cool in still air. - Hardened and tempered: 860-920°C / OQ + / >=560°C / OQ
