Heat Treatments
- <b> Hardening: </b> 840-880°C (Temperatures at the lower end of the range are generally used for water, and those at the upper end for oil quenching; Time for austenitizing as a guide: at least 30 min.); <br> <b> Quenching agent: </b> Water or oil (Other quenching agents such as synthetic quenchants may also be used.); <br> <b> Tempering:</b> 550-660°C (Time for tempering as a guide: at least 1h.); <br> <b> End quench test austenitizing:</b> 870 ± 5°C (Time for austenitizing as a guide: 30-35 min.); <br> <b> Normalizing:</b> 860-900°C.
- (+N) Normalized: 860-900°C, cooled in air;<br />(+QT) Quenched: 840-880°C, cooled in oil or water, Tempered: 550-660°C.
