Heat Treatments
- Annealing: 650-700°C; Normalizing: 860-890°C; Hardening in water: 840-870°C; Hardening in oil: 850-880°C; Tempering: 540-680°C
- Austenitizing (at least 30 min), quenching in water or oil: 840-880°C (the temperatures at the lower end of the range are generally applicable to quenching in water and those at the upper end for quenching in oil), other quenching agents such as synthetic quenchants may also be used; Tempering: 550-660°C (at least 60 min); End quench test: 870 (±5°C); Normalizing: 860-920°C, austenitizing (at least 30 min).
