DIN C60 Heat Treatments

  • Hardening: 800-840°C (Temperatures at the lower end of the range are generally used for water, and those at the upper end for oil quenching. Time for austenitizing as a guide: at least 30 min.);
    Quenching agent: Oil or water (Other quenching agents such as synthetic quenchants may also be used.);
    Tempering: 550-660°C (Time for tempering as a guide: at least 1h.);
    Normalizing: 820-860°C.
  • Annealing: 650-700°C; Normalizing: 820-850°C; Hardening in water: 800-830°C; Hardening in oil: 810-840°C; Tempering: 540-680°C.
