DIN 1.0460 Heat Treatments

  • Normalizing from 880-910°C, after reaching the temperature in the entire cross-section, cooling in still air
    Stress relieving from 520-580°C.
Heat through and hold within the temperature range from 520-580°C.
Fot t <= 15mm (min.15min), for 15 < t <= 30mm (min.30min), for t > 30mm (approx.60min). For subsequent annealing, the lower limit of the temperature range should be aimed for. Cooling in still air.
  • Annealing at 880-940°C and cooling in still air; Stress relieving at 520 to 600 °C (soaking and retention within this temperature range), where for t <= 15mm, duration time is minimum 15 minutes, for 15 < t <= 30 mm, duration time is minimum 30 minutes and for t > 30 mm, duration time is approx. 60 minutes. Cooling in still air.
