JIS NW5500 Heat Treatments
- Solution treatment (S): 760°C or higher, rapid cooling.
Ageing treatment (H1): After S treatment, 590°C - 610°C (8 hours - 16 hours), cool to 480°C in furnace at a speed of 10°C - 15°C per hour, and air cool.
Ageing treatment (H2): After S treatment, maintain at 590°C - 610°C (8 hours - 16 hours), cool to 535°C in furnace, at the same temperature (6 hours), cool to 480°C in furnace, at the same temperature (8 hours), and air cool.
Ageing treatment (H3): After hot rolling, 590°C - 610°C (8 hours - 16 hours), cool to 480°C in furnace at a speed of 10°C - 15°C per hour, and air cool.
Ageing treatment (H4): After hot rolling, 590°C - 610°C (8 hours - 16 hours), cool to 535°C in furnace, at the same temperature (6 hours), cool to 480°C in furnace, at the same temperature (8 hours), and air cool. - Solution treated then aged (H1)
Solution treatment (S): 760°C min. rapid cooling;
