ASTM B 865 N05500 Heat Treatments
- Age hardening shall be accomplished by holding at an aim temperature of 595°C (1100°F) for 8-16h followed by furnace cooling to 480°C (900°F) at a rate of 8-14°C (15-25°F) per hour and then air cooling. An alternate procedure consists of holding at 595°C (1100°F) for up to 16 h, furnace cooling to 540°C (1000°F) , holding for approximately 6 h, furnace cooling to 480°C (900°F), holding for approximately 8 h, and air cooling to room temperature.
