IS X05Cr16Ni4CuNb Heat Treatments
- Hot forming at 1150-900°C, cooling in air or furnace.
Solution annealing (+AT) at 1020-1060°C. Not suitable for direct application; prompt precipitation hardening after solution annealing is recommended to avoid cracking.
Solution annealing and precipitation hardening:
+P1 Solution annealing at 1020-1060°C, rapid cooling; precipitation hardening at 610-630°C, cooling in air.
+P2 Solution annealing at 1020-1060°C, rapid cooling; precipitation hardening at 570-590°C, cooling in air.
+P3 Solution annealing at 1020-1060°C, rapid cooling; precipitation hardening at 540-560°C, cooling in air.
+P4 Solution annealing at 1020-1060°C, rapid cooling; precipitation hardening at 470-490°C cooling in air. - Solution annealed at 1 030 to 1 050°C - Not suitable for direct application, prompt precipitation hardening after solution annealing is recommended to avoid cracking. If heat treatment is carried out in a continuous furnace, the upper part of the range specified is usually preferred, or even exceeded;
