PROPRIETARY Aeroval V155 Heat Treatments
- Solution treatment (condition A)
Heated at 1040°C ± 15°C, soaked min. 30 minutes, commensurate to section.
Air cooled to below 30°C. Alternative: for d ≥ 75 mm rapid air cooling, for d < 75 mm, air cooling.
Precipitation hardening (condition H900)
Heated at 480°C ± 5°C, soaked for 1h ± 5 min. Air cooled.
Precipitation hardening (condition H925)
Heated at 500°C ± 5°C, soaked for 4h ± 15 min. Air cooled.
Precipitation hardening (condition H1025)
Heated at 550°C ± 5°C, soaked for 4h ± 15 min. Air cooled.
Precipitation hardening (condition H1075)
Heated at 580°C ± 5°C, soaked for 4h ± 15 min. Air cooled.
Precipitation hardening (condition H1100)
Heated at 590°C ± 5°C, soaked for 4h ± 15 min. Air cooled.
Precipitation hardening (condition H1150)
Heated at 620°C ± 5°C, soaked for 4h ± 15 min. Air cooled.
Precipitation hardening (condition H1150M (double PH))
Heated at 760°C ± 5°C, soaked for 2h ± 15 min, air cooled + heated at 620°C ± 5°C, soaked for 4h ± 15 min, air cooled.
Hot working
Before forging, material should be heated at 1180-1200°C for 1 hour. Forging below 1000°C is not recommended. In order to have material exhibiting best grain size and mechanical properties, forgings should be cooled in air to below 35°C before further processing.
Cold working
The material could be moderately but not hardly formed in the overaged conditions. Best machinability or cold deformation can be achieved in the double-aged conditions (H1150M).
