PROPRIETARY X13T6W Heat Treatments

  • Hardened: Preheat to 750°C; Raise to 1030°C; Air cool or gas pressure quench. Oil quenching may be possible depending on the shape of the parts. It is recommended that heating should take place in a neutral atmosphere.
    Tempered: According to hardness required.
  • Annealing
    870°C followed by slow cooling
    Quenching:
    - preheating to 750°C,
    - heating to 1030°C,
    - quenching under gas pressure.
    - Cold pass -76°C recommended (possibility of oil quenching possible depending on the geometry of the parts).
    - Heating in an inert atmosphere is recommended.
Tempering : according to the desired hardness.
