ASTM A 217 J84090 Heat Treatments
- Shall be thermally treated, either by normalizing and tempering or by accelerated cooling from the austenitizing temperature by air blasting or liquid quenching, followed by tempering. Castings shall be austenitized at 1040 - 1080°C (1900 - 1975°F) and tempered at 730 - 800°C (1350 - 1470°F).
