PROPRIETARY BÖHLER V155 Heat Treatments
- Hot forming, forging: 1050 to 850°C, Slow cooling in furnace.
Normalizing: 850 to 880°C, Air cooling
Annealing: 650 to 700°C, Controlled, slow cooling in furnace.
Stress relieving: In the quenched and tempered condition, approx. 30 - 50°C below tempering temperature. In the annealed condition 600 to 650°C. Holding time: > 1 hour.
Hardening: 830 to 860°C / Oil
Tempering: 540 to 680°C / Air cooling. Tempering should immediately follow hardening. Holding time: > 1 hour;
Nitriding: The steel admits both gas and bath nitriding.
