B.S. 817 M 40 Heat Treatments
- Carburized for at least 1h at the hardening temperature between 800°C and 930°C. After cooling to room temperature they shall be reheated to the single quenching temperature and quenched in oil. Hardened at 820 - 850°C, quenched in oil; Tempered at max. 660°C.
- Hardening (quenching in oil): 820-850 C; Tempering: t <= 660 C
