ISO X7CrNiAl17-7 Heat Treatments
- Heat treated at 450-490°C; Duration: <= 1h; Air cooling; The optimum heat treatment conditions may be very different. The spring manufacturer shall choose those conditions answering the purpose; The heat treatment data refer to compression springs, torsion and tension (springs without initial tension).
- Hot forming: 1150-900°C, air cooling; Solution annealing (+AT): 1030-1050°C air cooling; Precipitation hardening (+P1300): Annealing from 760°C (40 min) to 820°C (30 min) and quick cooling to max 20°C, cooling within 1h at 12°C, reheating in air to +20°C. Precipitation hardening from 480°C 2h to 550°C 1h; Precipitation hardening (+P1450): Annealing from 945 to 965°C (10 min) and quick cooling to max 20°C, cooling within 1h to -70°C, holding time 8h, reheating in air to +20°C. Precipitation hardening from 500°C to 520°C 1h.
