ASTM A 565 S41041 Heat Treatments
- HT - Heat treated (for high-temperature service): 1135 to 1165°C (2075 to 2125°F) for 2 h min, quench in air or oil and temper at min. 675°C (1250°F) for 2 h min.
Air or oil quenching depends on section size; heavier sections, approximately 76.2 mm or greater, should be oil quenched. Suitable synthetic quenchants may be substituted for oil.
