ASTM A 693 Type 632 Heat Treatments
- Solution treatment at 1065 ± 15°C (1950 ± 25°F) (quenching in water).
Precipitation hardening (PH954 - 73 + 510): 954 ± 8°C (1750 ± 15°F), hold 10 min, cool rapidly to room temperature. Cool within 24 h to −73°C ± 6°C (-100 ± 10°F), hold not less than 8 h. Warm in air to room temperature. Heat to 510 ± 6°C (950 ± 10°F), hold 1 h, (cooling in air).
Alternative Treatment
Precipitation hardening (PH760 + 15 + 566): T = 760 ± 15°C (1400 ± 25°F), hold 90 min, cool to 15 ± 3°C (55 ± 5°F) within 1 h. Hold not less than 30 min, heat to 566 ± 6°C (1050 ± 10°F), hold for 90 min, (cooling in air).
