AFNOR NF G42 CrMo 4 Heat Treatments


  • +QT1: 880-950°C, quenched by air or liquid; Tempered at 600-650°C.
    +QT2: 880-950°C, quenched by air or liquid; Tempered at 550-600°C.
  • Quenched and tempered (+QT1): Air or oil quenched at 860 to 930°C and tempered at 600 to 650°C
    Quenched and tempered (+QT2): Oil or water quenched at 860 to 930°C and tempered at 500 to 600°C
    Quenched and tempered (+QT3): Oil quenched at 860 to 930°C and tempered at 200 to 250°C
    Structure:
    - for +QT1 condition – Ferrite, pearlite and bainitic
    - for +QT2 condition – Martensitic
    - for +QT3 condition – Martensitic
