DIN 1.7228 Heat Treatments
- Normalized at 840-870°C
Quenched at 820-850°C
Tempered at 530-670°C
Surface hardened at 820-890°C - Austenitizing (quenching in oil): 820-860°C, t > 30 min. Synthetic quenchants may also be used. Tempering: 540-680°C, t > 60 min. A mandatory end quench test shall be carried out at 850+/- 5°C.
