MIL DTL-32477 Grade 2 Heat Treatments

  • Solution heat treated by heating to a temperature within the range of 1038-1052°C, holding at the -4°C for 4 to 8h, and quenching in water prior to cold working. After cold working, for d or t <= 50.8mm shall be aged by heating to a temperature within the range of 482 to 663°C, holding at the selected temperature within -4°C for not less than 4h, and cooling at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster. For 50.8 < d or t <= 88.9 mm shall be aged by heating to a temperature in the range of 482-663°C, holding at the selected temperature -4°C for not less than 4h, and cooling at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster.
