- Temper 0 (2)
Temper T551
Permanent Mold Castings
Precipitation Heat Treated at 171 ± 6°C (340 ± 10°F), 16-22 hours;
Temper T61
Sand Castings
Solution Heat Treated (1) at 510 ± 6°C (950 ± 10°F), 8-12 hours;
Precipitation Heat Treated at 154 ± 6°C (310 ± 10°F), 10-12 hours;
Temper T65
Permanent Mold Castings
Solution Heat Treated (1) at 510 ± 6°C (950 ± 10°F), 4-12 hours;
Precipitation Heat Treated at 171 ± 6°C (340 ± 10°F), 7-9 hours;
(1) Quench in water at 65 to 100°C (150 to 212°F) except as noted.
(2)Use air blast quench.
