AA 222.0 Heat Treatments
- Annealed (O): Aging treatment at 315.5°C (± 5.56°C) / 600°F (± 10°F) for 3 hours; Stress relieve for dimensional stability in following manner: Hold at 412.7°C (± 13.9°C) / 775°F (± 25°F) for 5 hours, then furnace cool to 343.3°C / 650°F for 2 or more hours, then furnace cool to 232.2°C / 450°F for not more than 0.5 hours, then furnace cool to 121°C / 250°F for approximately 2 hours, then cool to room temperature in still air outside the furnace.
T61: Solution heat treated at 510°C (± 5.56°C) / 950°F (± 10°F)/12 hours; quenched in water at 65.5 - 100°C / 150 - 212°F.
Aging treatment: At 154.4°C (± 5.56°C) / 310°F (± 10°F) for 11 hours.
T551: Aging treatment: At 171.1°C (± 5.56°C) / 340°F (± 10°F) for 16 - 22 hours.
T65: Solution heat treated at 510°C (± 5.56°C) / 950°F (± 10°F)/4 - 12 hours; quenched in water at 65.5 - 100°C / 150 - 212°F.
Aging treatment: At 171.1°C (± 5.56°C) / 340°F (± 10°F) for 7 - 9 hours.
