B.S. NA 20 Heat Treatments
- Solution treated at 1080°C for a period of up to 8 h and then cooling it in a suitable medium.
Precipitation treated by:
a) maintaining it at a temperature of 850°C for a period of 24 h and air cooling it, followed by
b) maintaining it at a temperature of 700°C for a period of up to 16 h.
The above conditions of heat treatment are particularly suitable when alloy is to be used for bolts for service at elevated temperatures.
