SAE A206.0 Heat Treatments
- Soak at 488°C ± 6°C (910°F ± 10°F)for 2 hours ± 0.25 hour, raise temperature to 510°C ± 6°C (950°F ± 10°F) and soak for 2 hours ± 0.25 hour, raise temperature to 529°C ± 6°C (985°F ± 10°F) and soak for not less than 12 hours, and quench and age at room temperature for not less than 72 hours.
- Solution heat treatment: soak at 488°C ± 6°C (910°F ± 10°F) for 2 hours ± 0.25, raise temperature to 510°C ± 6°C (950°F ± 10°F) and soak for 2 hours ± 0.25, raise temperature to 529°C ± 6°C (985°F ± 10°F) and soak for not less than 12 hours, and quench and age at room temperature for not less than 72 hours.
Precipitation heat treatment: soak at 199°C ± 5°C (390°F ± 10°F) for 4 hours minimum, and cool in air.
