PROPRIETARY Exera 1RK91 Heat Treatments
- In the annealed condition this material has an austenitic microstructure. To be able to precipitation harden the material, the matrix has first to be hardened and, thereby, partly transformed to martensite.
For wire strength increases dramatically following ageing at a temperature of approximately 475°C (885°F) for 4h, at which point precipitation occurs in the martensitic matrix.
