PROPRIETARY V316LUF Heat Treatments
- Forging: Heating to approximately 1200°C, keep at temperature until completely homogenized and start forging. Do not forge below 930°C. Reheat if necessary. In case of upsetting, finish the job between 930 and 980°C.
Solubilization: To obtain maximum corrosion resistance, it is recommended to heat to 1050 - 1100 °C, keep at temperature until complete redissolution of precipitated carbides and cool in water or air, according to thickness.
Hardening: It is not hardenable by heat treatment. This can be achieved by hardening, through cold deformation, such as drawing in the case of bars.
