NB 12Cr13 Heat Treatments
- After austenitizing, the steel pipe is oil quenched or water quenched, or subjected to gas quenching equivalent to oil quenching or water quenching and then tempered at a temperature not lower than 600°C. Steel straightening shall be stress relieving heat treated at a temperature at least 20°C lower than the flame temperature but not lower than 580°C.
- Oil quenching with an austenitizing temperature of between 950°C and 1000°C, followed by tempering at a temperature min. 600°C and air or water cooling. In addition, the shafts undergo stabilizing heat treatment at a temperature at least 25°C less than the minimum tempering temperature.
