ASME SA-335 Grade P24 Heat Treatments
- Shall be reheated for heat treatment.
Normalized at range of 980 - 1020°C (1800 - 1870°F), air-cooling or accelerated cooling. Tempering temperature shall be 730 - 770°C (1350 - 1420°F).
It is recommended that the temperature for tempering should be at least 50°C (100°F) above the intended service temperature; consequently, the purchaser should advise the manufacturer if the service temperature is to be over 600°C (1100°F).
Heat treatment after weld repair: heat treated at 730 - 770°C (1350 - 1420°F).
