PROPRIETARY 20CrMo5 Heat Treatments


  • Hot-forming at 1050 to 850°C.
    Core hardening at 850°C, water, oil, polymer.
    Tempering (+T) at 450 to 600°C.
    Carburizing at 860 to 900°C, oil, polymer.
    Tempering at 180 to 200°C.
    Soft annealing (+A) at 680 to 700°C 15°C/h to 600°C than air.
    Transformation annealing (FP) at 900-1000°C.
    Intermediate annealing at 650 to 680°C .
    End quench hardenability at 860°C, water.
    Pre-heating welding (welding must be carried out on the annealed state and before carburizing) at 200 to 300°C.
    Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 850°C in water.
