PROPRIETARY 17NiCrMo6-4 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming at 1100 to 900°C.
Normalizing at 880°C, air.
Core hardening at 830 to 870°C, oil, polymer, salt bath.
Hardening carburiz. surface at 780 to 820°C, oil or polymer salt bath.
Stress relieving at 150 to 180°C.
Intermediate annealing 650 to 700°C, air.
Carburizing at 880 to 980°C.
Soft annealing at 700°C, air.
Isothermal annealing at 850°C, furnace cooling to 650°C, tha air.
Treated to ferrite-perlite microstructure at 900 to 1000°C.
End quench hardenability at 880°C, water.
Mechanical properties for hot-formed products, after hardening 850°C oil + stress-relieving at 200°C.
Quenching at 850°C, oil, and tempering at 200 °C, air.
