ASME 10CrMo9-10 Heat Treatments
- Normalizing and tempering (+NT):
Normalizing: 900 - 960°C, air cooling;
Tempering: 680 - 750°C, air cooling.
It may be necessary in the case of wall thickness T above 10 mm or T/D > 0.15 to apply quenching and tempering in order to achieve the intended structure and material properties.
Normalizing includes Normalizing Forming. Normalized Forming shall be carried out in a temperature range from 880 - 1000°C. - Normalizing at 920-980°C; Austenitizing at 920-980°C; Tempering at 650-750°C; Stress-relieving for 1h at 685°C and for 2h at 675°C.
