EN 10028-2: 2017 / Flat products made of steels for pressure purposes - Part 2: Non-alloy and alloy steels with specified elevated temperature properties

Heat Treatments

  • Austenitized: 920 - 980°C; Tempered: 650 - 750°C.
  • Normalizing and tempering (+NT): 900-960°C, air cooling. Tempering: 680-750°C, air cooling. Normalizing includes Normalizing Forming, Normalized Forming shall be carried out in a temperature range from 880-1000°C.<br />It may be necessary in the case of wall thickness T above 10 mm or T/D > 0.15 to apply quenching and tempering in order to achieve the intended structure and material properties.
