ASTM A 600 T12001 Heat Treatments
- Pre-heat at 816 - 871°C (1500 - 1600°F) then austenitize at either 1277°C (2330°F) in a salt bath or 1288°C (2350°F) in a controlled atmosphere furnace. Oil quench or quench in molten salts and air cool. When a salt quench is employed, its temperature shall be 566 - 635°C (1050 - 1175°F). Temper twice at 552°C (1025°F) for 2 hours each
