UNI HS18-0-1 Heat Treatments

  • Hardening: hardened at 1260°C ± 10°C, quenched in salt bath at 550°C.
    Tempering: tempered at 550°C ± 10°C
  • Austenitized at 1260 ± 10°C and quenched. Usual quenching media in practice are air, gas or salt bath. Total heating time of test pieces in a salt bath is 3 min. for hardening and minimum 2 periods of 60 min. each for tempering.
    Tempered at 560 ± 10°C.
