ASME SA-335 Grade P36 Class 2 Heat Treatments
- Shall be reheated for heat treatment.
Normalized at 900°C (1650°F) minimum and tempered at 595°C (1100°F) minimum.
Alternatively, this class shall be cooled from the austenitizing temperature by accelerated cooling in air or by liquid quenching.
It is recommended that the temperature for tempering should be at least 50°C (100°F) above the intended service temperature; consequently, the purchaser should advise the manufacturer if the service temperature is to be over 600°C (1100°F).
