PROPRIETARY SMR Heat Treatments
- Hardened: Preheat to 750°C; Heated to 1010°C; Air cool or gas pressure cooled. For a large parts, air cooling may be replaced by hardening in a salt bath at 300°C, followed by cooling in air to room temperature. It is recommended that heating should take place in a neutral atmosphere.
Tempered: First tempering at 550°C; Second tempering between 550-650°C depending on hardness required.
