PROPRIETARY R P Heat Treatments
- Soft annealing: heat to 820 - 840°C for 4-6 hours, then slow furnace cooling.
Hardening: heat to 1020 - 1050°C. Cooling in polymer, warm bath of approx. 540°C. Interrupt oil or polymer cooling at 230 - 280°C or vacuum hardening.
Tempering: 580 - 700°C.
Nitriding is possible.
Preheating before use at 150 - 350°C.
