PROPRIETARY APXV Heat Treatments
- Softened: Heat to 680°C; air cool.
Quenched and tempered: Oil quench from 1020°C. Temper at 600°C.
Hardened: Heat to 1020°C; Oil quench is preferable, but it is possible to gas pressure quench depending on the section; Heating should take place in an inert atmosphere is recommended.
Temper: According to properties required.
Forging: 1100/900°C. - Quenching
- Preheating to 680°C.
- Solution heat treatment 1020°C.
- Oil or gas pressure quenching.
Tempering
- From 200°C according to the desired hardnesses.
Annealing: 680°C followed by slow cooling
