PROPRIETARY C35E Heat Treatments


  • Hot-forming at 1100 to 850°C.
    Normalizing at 880°C, air.
    Quenching at 850°C, water or Quenching at 880°C oil or polymer.
    Tempering at 540 to 680°C, air.
    Stress-relieving 50° under the temperature of tempering.
    Soft annealing at 700°C, air.
    Isothermal annealing at 840°C, furnace cooling to 650°C, than air.
    End quench hardenability test at 870°C.
    Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 850°C in water.
  • Hot forging: Heat to 1245°C, cooling in air
    Normalizing: Heat to 915°C (min 800°C), cooling in air
    Quench & Tempering: Hardened at 845°C,quenching in oil
    Tempering: Tempering at 370°C in order to get tensile strength in the range 620-860 MPa
